Supported Living Direct Support Professional (DSP) Part Time, Back-Up - Albany, OR

As a Supported Living Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will provide personalized support to adults and youth in home and community settings. Your goal is to support, engage with and develop meaningful relationships with your client and their family. As a DSP, you will help them set and achieve goals and milestones both big and small. This position requires willingness to work with behavioral and hygiene supports.

RISE is looking for Part Time Support Staff to provide direct care to individuals living with developmental and intellectual disabilities. We are specifically looking for people who have open and flexible availability and would be available as backup coverage.

Essential Functions:

• Provide assistance to people receiving support through the implementation of the RISE Mission, Vision, and Values.
• Demonstrate respect and promote choice.
• Promote the rights of people receiving support and contribute to an environment that is free of abuse, neglect and/or exploitation.
• Build meaningful relationships.
• Advocate for success.
• Remain calm in times of stress or excitement.
• Encourage interaction and independence.
• Follow clients' plan to achieve desired outcomes and provide support as indicated.
• Keeping required electronic and paper documentation
• Assist with personal care such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and grooming as needed.
• Other needs of the person as identified by the team
• Communicate status of supports and other issues/problems as needed with supervisor
• Act as an appropriate role model and support people in using appropriate language, dress, table manners, respect, and other behavior as needed.
• Attend staff meetings and other mandatory training as required by RISE
• Plan and implement meaningful activities that promote skill development for people receiving support.
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications are:

• Verbal and written communication skills adequate to the specific job.
• Be at least eighteen (18) years of age
• Ability to meet minimum training requirements and complete renewals as assigned
• Ability to pass and maintain a DHS Background check
• Ability to pass and maintain CPR and First Aid training certification
• Ability to pass and maintain Oregon Intervention Systems (OIS) training certification, if applicable
• Have and maintain a current drivers license, acceptable driving record, and current auto insurance per RISE requirements, if required to transport clients. Must be 21 if required to drive an approved RISE vehicle.
• Be required to clock in and out, and document daily goal progress using their personal smartphones

Training and some meetings will take place at our Regional Albany Office, but day to day shifts will take place in the individuals home/community.
