Are you looking for a rewarding and exciting opportunity to work with students in an after-school program? We are currently seeking dynamic and enthusiastic After School Program Instructors to join our team.
LOCATION: We partner with 7 school districts and have after-school program at 24 school sites in the Antelope and Santa Clarita Valleys.
STARTING PAY RATE: from $19.00/hr
SCHEDULE: Part time. Afternoon shifts available. Approximately 3-6 hours per day. Schedule and shifts will vary depending on school site and season (school year or summer).
Ideal candidates must be adaptable, resilient, patient, energetic, dependable and motivated. Ideal candidates will have excellent communication and organization skills, and experience working with school age children in a teaching, tutoring, coaching, or leadership position.
JOB TYPE: Part-time
DESCRIPTION: As an After School Program Instructor, you will have the opportunity to work in a cohesive and supportive environment. You will be responsible for supervising students to ensure a safe environment, serving as a mentor and role model, and assisting students with homework and assignments.
In addition, you will have the chance to lead activities and teach enrichment lessons in a variety of categories, including languages and cultures, arts, technology, sports, fitness, nutrition, community service, citizenship, leadership, and social-emotional skills. You will also play a key role in recruiting students to the program and fostering a positive environment for all participants.
REQUIREMENTS: A successful applicant must be 18 or older, a high school graduate, pass a Livescan background screening, and provide a negative TB certificate.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS :
- Supervise all program participants to ensure a safe and organized program
- Must be caring, encouraging, and capable of having positive interaction with students, parents, and team members
- Must be able to design, coordinate and lead organized enrichment and fitness activities with students
- Must be able to provide academic and mentoring support for students
- Attend events and trainings in the evenings and on weekends as necessary
- Assist with the planning and facilitation of special projects and events
- Assist with the recruitment and retention of students
- Attend staff development trainings and workshops
- Perform other duties as assigned
