Position Summary

The Saw Operator – Milling & Cutting is responsible for cutting, milling, measuring, and preparing wood materials for production and construction projects. This role operates milling and cutting equipment while ensuring accuracy, quality, and safe work practices within a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Measure, mark, and arrange materials based on blueprints, production drawings, or supervisor instructions
• Operate the Hornet MD20 mill and other cutting equipment safely and efficiently
• Cut and shape wood materials, structures, forms, and fixtures to required specifications
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, and industrial cutting equipment to complete assigned tasks
• Assemble and join materials using nails, screws, staples, adhesives, or other fastening methods
• Inspect completed work using measuring devices and quality checks to ensure accuracy
• Identify and correct material or cutting issues as needed
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Follow company safety procedures and applicable building and manufacturing standards
• Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership
  
  

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of related manufacturing, woodworking, sawmill, or construction experience preferred
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and production drawings
• Strong math and measurement skills
• Experience operating hand tools, power tools, and cutting equipment
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
• Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards
  
  

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift and carry up to 70 pounds
• Ability to bend, kneel, reach, and perform repetitive motions throughout the workday
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures
  
  

The salary range for this role is $20 – $22(Hourly). Actual salaries may vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, and candidate skill set and experience. Base pay is just one component of Rise Modular’s Total Rewards package for employees.
