What are the responsibilities and job description for the Counselor, CASAC or CASAC-T - Ballston Spa position at RISE Housing and Support Services?
RISE Housing and Support Services has an opportunity for a positive, compassionate, and inclusive individual to join our team at one of our community residences and apartment program, Hedgerow House. A successful candidate will be able to navigate the daily duties of the program while keeping their focus on offering high-quality support and advocacy to our residents, as they work to overcome the life challenges their chemical dependency diagnosis has presented.
RISE offers a starting Counselor:
- A rate of $20 - $25 per hour, based upon credentials and experience
- $1,500 bonus after 6 months of employment
- Opportunities for overtime

Overview of Job Responsibilities:
- Collaborating with program residents to work toward their goals
- Supervising residents’ daily living activities and house management to maintain a clean, safe, and supportive environment
- Maintaining current and accurate documentation on resident progress
- Modeling positive and appropriate behaviors for residents
- 1st, 2nd and 3rd shift opportunities available
To qualify you must have:
- CASAC-T or CASAC
- Experience supporting individuals diagnosed with chemical dependency
- An ability to operate independently, think on your feet, and follow your training
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong interpersonal boundaries
- Our shared belief system in areas such as empathy, respect, understanding, and dedication
