Site Operations - Yorktown Heights, NY

We are currently hiring for a gig in the Yorktown Heights area that has consistent positions available lasting 1-2 months.

Gig Description:

• The work environment is outdoors - expect dirt, soft ground, tall grass, and navigating nature. Long pants and closed toed boots are required uniform for all crew members.
• Workdays are scheduled as 10-hour days with a 1-hour unpaid walkaway, Monday through Saturday. Sunday will be the designated day off.
• A 1-hour unpaid walk-away lunch as well as two paid 15-minute breaks will be designated each day.
• PPE is required with hi-viz vests to be provided by RISE Event Labor. All RISE crew members are required to bring their own hard hats, boots, gloves, and tools/equipment as required by their role.

While your primary role may be defined, our dynamic work environment often necessitates versatility. Expect to engage in tasks that contribute to the overall success of the event, irrespective of your designated role.

Responsibilities:
Set Preparation: Assist in the setup and breakdown of production sets, including assembling and disassembling stage components, lighting structures, audio systems, and scenic elements.

Equipment Handling: Safely handle and transport production equipment, including unloading and loading from trucks.

Team Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with other stagehands, technicians, and production staff to achieve seamless coordination during set up, strike, rehearsals and live performances.

Qualifications:
Education: Any technical or vocational training in stagecraft or related fields is a plus.

Experience: Previous experience in a similar role within the entertainment or production industry is preferred but not required. Construction experience is often beneficial to a transition to this industry.

Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy objects, work at heights, and stand for extended periods, often while working outside.

Team Player: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Adaptability: Willingness to adapt to changing schedules and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Attention to Detail: Precise and neat placement of structures, equipment, and cabling provides the polish to live events that allows us to shine for our clients and event hosts.

Role Descriptions of the Positions We Are Hiring For.

General Stagehand (GS)
We will be working in fields and wooded areas to accomplish our tasks. General hands should have the expectation that they will not just be pushing road cases. They could be asked to do and assist with any department in a multitude of ways, (i.e. driving in tent stakes, shovelling mulch, pulling power cables, standing truss, opening shipments of supplies). We will be outside, in the weather, with the ticks. Closed toed boots, long pants, hard hats and hi-viz are required, and gloves and masks are recommended. Please bring tools that you are comfortable using and having on hand at an outdoor worksite.

Site Operations
Responsible for preparing and maintaining event grounds, including layout, fencing, signage, lighting, power, and landscaping. Assists with the build and strike of temporary structures and ensures pathways and infrastructure remain safe and accessible. Helps create a functional, organized, and welcoming site for staff and attendees.

Heavy Equipment Operator
An Equipment Operator is a skilled professional who operates machinery and equipment in various settings, including construction, manufacturing, and industrial environments. Their responsibilities encompass operating, maintaining, and ensuring the safe and efficient use of equipment like boom lifts, lulls, and other production equipment. They are also involved in tasks such as inspecting, cleaning, and performing minor repairs on equipment, as well as ensuring the overall worksite is safe and manageable for the equipment and production by sometimes exiting the machine to assist with manual equipment shifts. Experience operating in outdoor environments and wooded areas is mandatory for this project.
