Role Description
This is an on-site, part-time Dance Instructor role located in Nampa, ID. The Dance Instructor will be responsible for planning and leading engaging dance classes, teaching choreography and technique, and providing individualized feedback to students. The instructor will work closely with students of diverse skill levels to foster their artistic growth and help them achieve their goals. Participation in academy events and performances may also be required.We are seeking a passionate and experienced Dance Teacher to inspire students of all ages in our vibrant dance program.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in various dance styles, including ballet and have experience developing engaging curricula. This role involves teaching dance techniques, managing classrooms, and fostering a positive learning environment that encourages creativity and growth.
Requirements
- Develop and implement studios comprehensive dance curricula tailored to different age groups and skill levels, including early childhood education and adult classes
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons that incorporate various learning styles
- Manage classroom behavior effectively to ensure a safe and productive learning environment
- Provide individualized tutoring and support to students with diverse needs, including those requiring special education or preschool experience
- Choreograph performances, showcases, or recitals to showcase student progress and build confidence
- Maintain classroom organization and manage lesson plans efficiently
- Foster a supportive atmosphere that promotes childhood development, behavior management, and early childhood education principles
- Collaborate with parents, staff, and other educators to support student growth and address individual needs
- Proven experience in teaching dance, with knowledge of curriculum development, lesson planning, and classroom management
- Passion for teaching dance combined with patience, creativity, and enthusiasm for fostering student growth
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Dance, including strong technique and performance skills
- Experience in Dance Instruction and Teaching with a focus on engaging and motivating students
- Knowledge of Dance Education principles and the ability to develop age-appropriate lesson plans
- Familiarity with rhythm, timing, and Music as it relates to choreography
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to connect with students and parents
- Ability to inspire students of all levels and foster an inclusive learning environment
- Prior experience teaching various dance styles preferred
- Credentials in dance education or related certifications are a plus
