JOB PURPOSE
The Community Engagement Manager serves as the public voice and community connector for RISE Community Services. This role is responsible for managing the organization’s public image, coordinating volunteer initiatives, creating impactful marketing materials, and leading the development of RISE’s digital and social media presence. The ideal candidate will bring creativity, confidence, and strong communication skills to help amplify RISE’s mission and community impact.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Public Relations & Media Coordination
- Develop and maintain relationships with media outlets, community partners, and local leaders.
- Create press releases, talking points, and newsletters aligned with RISE’s mission and brand.
- Represent RISE with professionalism and empathy in all public-facing interactions.
- Outreach Strategy Development:
- Represent the organization at community events, conferences, and networking opportunities to increase visibility and community relationships.
- Oversee and schedule tours or exhibits with the public.
- Manage logistics, vendors, and event promotion in collaboration with internal teams.
- Brand Awareness
- Coordinate sales and promotional activities for The RISE Room, including meals-to-go, catering, and rental services.
- Plan and execute creative marketing initiatives to boost awareness and sales for RISE Thrift Store.
- Collaborate with program teams to develop cross-promotional campaigns that connect sales initiatives with community outreach.
- Volunteer Program Coordination:
- Oversee RISE’s volunteer program, including recruitment, onboarding, and training of volunteers.
- Develop engagement and retention strategies to ensure volunteers are effectively integrated and aligned with organizational needs and culture.
- Content Creation:
- Design and implement creative campaigns to promote RISE programs, The RISE Room, and RISE Thrift Store.
- Create print and digital advertising materials, including flyers, menus, and social media graphics.
- Manage RISE’s social media platforms — including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, etc.
- Develop engaging visual and video content that highlights RISE’s impact stories and community involvement.
- Engagement Committee Participation
- Actively participate in RISE’s Engagement Committee, contributing ideas and energy to staff engagement and morale initiatives.
- Support internal events, celebrations, and recognition efforts that strengthen organizational culture.
- Help align external communication efforts with RISE’s internal engagement goals.
- Data Analysis & Reporting:
- Track and analyze volunteer activity and sales metrics to measure the impact of initiatives.
- Prepare reports and make data-driven recommendations to optimize future strategies.
- Monitor engagement metrics to inform content strategy and audience growth.
- Maintain volunteer data and participation metrics for reporting and analysis.
All other duties assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Required
- Must be 18 years of age.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Proven experience in outreach, community engagement, or marketing roles.
- Ability to work independently as a self-starter and collaborate within a team.
- Proficiency with digital marketing and social media platforms
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Must successfully complete a pre-employment background check and any subsequent background check after employment.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and will be subject to random drug and alcohol checks thereafter.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to obtain a Missouri Class E chauffeur’s license within 14 days of hire.
- Successfully complete employment-related training as directed.
- Preferred
- Associate’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Mobility: Ability to move around the office and attend meetings within the facility, as well as travel to offsite meetings, events, and community engagement activities. This may include walking, standing, or sitting for extended periods.
- Speech and Hearing: Clear speech and good hearing are necessary for effective communication, whether by phone, video conferencing, or in person at events and meetings.
- Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift and carry materials, such as event supplies, displays, and promotional materials, typically weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Travel: The role may require travel to community events, and other locations within a designated area. Access to reliable transportation is often necessary.
