Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Youth Advocacy and Program Coordinator to lead community engagement initiatives focused on youth violence prevention and advocacy. The Youth Advocacy & Program Coordinator will be responsible to perform a variety of duties related to the oversight, development, coordination, and enhancement of the organization's youth advocacy, outreach and education programs.
Duties and Responsibilities (non-inclusive):
A. Youth Advocacy
¨ Develop and implement outreach efforts for youth IPV survivors to access advocacy services;
¨ Provide advocacy and support to youth victims/survivors;
¨ Develop specialized programming for youth victims/survivors; and,
¨ Develop protocols with youth organizations for response to youth disclosures.
B. Youth Violence Prevention Programming
¨ Further enhance violence prevention curriculums for grades preK-12;
¨ Coordinate with local schools and other youth organizations to provide violence prevention education to school personnel, youth workers, parents and students/youth;
¨ Must have knowledge of victim dynamics and the ability to discuss in age-appropriate manners with youth;
¨ Design and implement tools to measure effectiveness of education; and,
¨ Participate in relevant committees and networking opportunities.
C. Victim Advocacy
¨ Take on-call shifts as needed to provide crisis intervention, advocacy, safety-planning and support services to victims/survivors 24-hours a day.
D. Other Responsibilities
¨ Report to the Executive Director regularly, providing updates on current issues and operations of program services and other job duties;
¨ Maintain complete files, including appropriate documentation of all outreach sessions provided and information for statistical and grant-requirement purposes;
¨ Submit written quarterly reports to the Executive Director, cc'd to Development & Evaluation Coordinator;
¨ Attend staff meetings;
¨ Attend pertinent training seminars and conferences to advance personal knowledge while incorporating what is learned into work activities;
¨ Participate in special events of the agency;
¨ Complete any other duties assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Oral and written fluency in English
High school diploma
Bachelor's degree in psychology, human services, social work or related field (preferred)
Previous work experience in family violence or sexual assault (preferred)
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Passionate about the mission and philosophy of Rise
Team oriented and believes in a strengths-based approach to providing trauma-informed services
Current driver's license and reliable transportation with up to date insurance
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and other computer software
Pay: $45, $72,800.00 per year
