Duties
- Assist with inventory management by stocking shelves, organizing products, and conducting regular inventory control checks using RF scanners and warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, cranes, pallet jacks, and order pickers to load, unload, and move materials safely within the warehouse.
- Support shipping and receiving activities by preparing shipments, verifying orders with AS400 systems, and ensuring accurate order picking and packing.
- Perform heavy lifting tasks to handle bulky items or materials requiring mechanical knowledge for safe operation.
- Conduct order fulfillment by picking, packing, and preparing products for shipment according to specified requirements.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace by stocking supplies, managing warehouse layout, and adhering to OSHA safety standards.
- Assist in warehouse distribution processes by coordinating with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow and ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Use RF scanners and warehouse management systems to track inventory movements accurately and support inventory audits.
- Operate heavy equipment such as cranes or forklift trucks with proper certification to handle construction or manufacturing materials safely.
- Support shipping & receiving operations through load & unload activities while maintaining safety protocols.
- Participate in warehouse safety training sessions to stay compliant with OSHA regulations and promote a safe working environment.
Skills
- Proven experience in warehouse operations including stocking, order picking & packing, shipping & receiving.
- Strong knowledge of inventory management systems such as WMS or AS400.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment like forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, cranes, and order pickers safely; certifications are preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude for understanding heavy equipment operation and basic repairs.
- Experience with materials handling techniques including heavy lifting and mechanical loading/unloading methods.
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards to ensure a safe work environment at all times.
- Excellent organizational skills for inventory control and warehouse layout optimization.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced manufacturing or distribution setting.
- Strong communication skills for coordinating with team members and supervisors on warehouse activities.
- Basic proficiency in using RF scanners and warehouse management systems like AS400 for accurate data entry and tracking.
