Role Description The Assistant Swim Coach is a part-time, on-site role based in Lakeland, FL. This position’s primary focus is coaching our Intermediate swimmers, helping the athletes develop strong fundamentals, improve technique, build confidence, and foster a lifelong love of competitive swimming. As part of the Riptide coaching team, you’ll work collaboratively with all the coaches across the groups to create a positive, challenging, and supportive team environment.
Whether you’re leading practices, cheering swimmers on at meets, or celebrating personal bests, you’ll play an important role in helping these young athletes grow both as swimmers and as individuals.
Qualifications
- Strong Swimming skills and experience participating in organized swim programs or teams.
- Proficiency in Swim Instruction and Swim Lessons, with the ability to teach stroke mechanics and water safety to diverse age groups.
- Knowledge of Aquatics programs and pool operations, including basic safety protocols.
- Clear and encouraging communication skills, with the ability to give constructive feedback to swimmers.
- Ability to work flexible part-time hours, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends as needed. Normal hours will typically be Mon-Fri 5pm-7pm and Sat 8am-10am
- CPR, First Aid, and relevant coaching or aquatic certifications preferred.
