Lower School Associate Homeroom Teacher

Rippowam Cisqua School seeks qualified, full-time Lower School Associate Teachers in PreKindergarten (beginning from age three) through fourth grade.

Responsibilities for the position include:

• Daily oversight alongside a Head Classroom Teacher of a homeroom of Lower School students.
• Participate in a larger grade level team.
• Prepare daily classroom materials.
• Supervise students during both academic and unstructured times (recess, lunch, arrival, dismissal).
• Communicate regularly with the Head Teacher about student behavior and goals.
• Participate in professional development through Associate Teacher program and faculty meetings.

Requirements for the position include:

• Experience with elementary and/or early childhood aged students.
• A bachelor’s degree.
• A commitment to an inclusive school community.
• A strong understanding of cognitive and social development for children of this age.
• A dedication to professional growth and development.
• A joyful disposition, genuine sense of humor, intellectual curiosity, flexibility, and a sincere interest in being part of a team.

Salaries for this position range from $37,500 to $47,500 depending on experience. Full benefits are offered including the opportunity to apply for preferential housing near campus. All associates receive an additional stipend up to $3,000 annually for educational expenses such as graduate school coursework.
