Assistant Manager of Life Support Systems and Maintenance
Department/Division/Section: Operations – Assistant Manager of Life Support Systems and Maintenance
Job Summary/Essential Functions: The Assistant Manager of Life Support Systems and Maintenance will act as the secondary
manager and support aid for the Manager of Operations. Though duties may be similar, the assistant
will be floor oriented and help to support all sub-level departments and at all Ripley's Attractions.
Overview
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following tasks:
• Follow all safety procedures including wearing protective eyewear and using lock out/tag out
guidelines and making sure coworkers to do the same
• Maintain accurate information both manually and / or computerized regarding upcoming projects,
completed projects & in-process projects
• Maintain inventory and maintenance records for all Operations supplies & equipment
• Coordinating projects & schedules at all Ripley's attractions, and keeping work orders current.
• Input all information into maintenance program as needed
• Schedule all Operations/Housekeeping employees based on coverage and upcoming projects,
taking requests into consideration when possible
• Maintaining work areas in a neat and orderly fashion and putting all tools away in their proper
place at the end of each shift
• Assist Housekeeping as needed
• Maintaining a positive attitude and being a team player
• Possess basic knowledge of attractions and provide assistance and information to guests as needed
• Report to work on time and in proper uniform
• Communicating with and supporting Manager of Operations and coworkers as needed
• Daily checks of the entire building from top to bottom
• Completing LSS rounds as needed
• Following proper procedures for starting up & shutting down the building as needed
• Immediately correcting anything that is broken or in need of attention in the public areas. If you
cannot fix it, inform the Manager of Operations immediately
• Completing projects accurately, thoroughly, completely and in a timely manner.
• Helping out with other positions throughout the aquarium as needed
• Other duties as assigned.
Preferred qualifications:
• 3-5 years experience in Operations management, preferably in Attractions/Amusement
management.
• Prior supervisory experience, especially with staff levels of 15-30.
• Basic computer skills
• Well-rounded in all aspects of contractor skills
• Well-spoken, articulate and organized.
Language: Fluent in English
