Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Site Supervisor (Sergeant) to join our California-based team. In this role, you will oversee security personnel, ensure effective communication, and maintain high standards of security and compliance specific to the cannabis industry. Your leadership will be pivotal in creating a safe and secure environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and manage a team of security personnel, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
• Develop and implement security protocols and training programs tailored to the cannabis industry in California.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with state and local security regulations and standards.
• Provide ongoing training and support to security staff, focusing on crowd management and use of force techniques.
• Address and resolve attendance issues, ensuring compliance with job responsibilities through detailed corrective actions.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure cohesive and efficient security operations.
• Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports related to security activities and incidents.
• Engage and motivate the team through recognition and positive feedback initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Security Supervisor or similar role.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• In-depth knowledge of security protocols.
• Ability to develop and conduct effective training sessions.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and effectively.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in crowd management and use of force training.
• Knowledge of compliance standards within the cannabis industry in California.
• Proficiency in creating and implementing training materials.
• Strong commitment to maintaining high standards of security and compliance.

Additional Minimum License/Certification:

• Have a current State of California Security Officer Guard Card and Exposed Firearm Permit from the State of California Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS)
• California Baton Permit Must be obtained within 3 months of hire.
• A Taser Permit must be obtained within 3 months of hire.
• O/C Spray Permit Must be obtained within 3 months of hire.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Must be able to work overtime when needed.
• Normal working hours include days, weekends, nights, and most holidays
• Security work in all weather conditions, rain, wind, cold, hot, and snow.

• Demonstrated proficiency in the exercise of sound decision making and defensive tactics
• Coordinates with others to ensure adequate coverage.
• Ability to understand and interpret complex policies, procedures, and personnel guidelines and communicate that information to others
• Ability to learn and adhere to the Rio Vista Security departmental policies and procedures, personnel policies, laws, and requirements
• Demonstrated experience in general mediation communication skills, geared toward conflict resolution
• Must have the ability to assist in restraining and apprehending combative subjects
