Our client manages an established summer music academy and residential camp situated in the Adirondack region. Participants arrive for a focused artistic experience supported by a structured environment, full campus services, and a highly trained faculty. The camp welcomes musicians ages 10–30, many of whom train professionally or attend major conservatories.
Maintaining wellness standards across the program demands an organized clinical leader, and the Head Nurse is directly responsible for overseeing daily care, compliance, and safety throughout the season.
Base Salary: $1,500–$1,700 per week, negotiable
Starting Bonus: Not applicable
Relocation Assistance: Travel stipend provided
Shift: Full-time role with rotating days off

The position requires full onsite presence.
The Head Nurse oversees medical operations from a 3-bed infirmary, conducting assessments, administering medication, and coordinating external medical support when necessary. The role interacts regularly with counselors, faculty, parents, and outside providers, ensuring campus-wide health preparedness at all times.
Lead daily medical operations for campers and staff
Maintain confidential medical logs and documentation
Conduct intake assessments upon arrival
Respond to urgent clinical needs, injuries, or acute illness
Dispense and track medications
Communicate care needs clearly to leadership and families
Coordinate transport to local hospitals or clinics
Maintain supply inventory, sanitation, and emergency readiness
Monitor infectious conditions and implement containment protocols
Current NY Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse credential (or eligibility prior to start)
CPR/AED/First Aid certification
Ability to live onsite with on-call rotation
Experience working with ages 10–30
Strong assessment and decision-making abilities
Prior experience in summer camps, boarding environments, or educational programs
Excellent communication and calm interpersonal style
Collaborative approach in fast-moving conditions
Wilderness First Aid a plus
