• Comprehensive Campus Health: Oversee daily school clinic operations, providing primary triage, first aid, emergency care, and chronic condition management for students across all grade levels.

• Advanced Care Management: Develop and implement Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs) for students with chronic conditions (e.g., severe allergies, diabetes, asthma, seizures) and oversee safe medication administration.

• Health Compliance & Records: Ensure full school compliance with Florida Department of Health and Board of Education regulations, maintaining precise, confidential student immunization records, health histories, and state-mandated health screenings.

• Emergency Response: Lead campus emergency health responses and maintain immediate readiness for acute injuries or illnesses.

• Student & Family Advocacy: Serve as the primary health liaison between parents, faculty, local pediatricians, and school administration to foster a safe, healthy learning community.

Mandatory Requirements:

• Licensure: Active Florida license as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) in good standing.

• Pediatric Experience: Minimum of 3 to 4 years of dedicated experience working directly with children in a clinical, pediatric, urgent care, or educational setting.

• Mandatory Certifications:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR Certification.

• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification.

• Must meet all Florida Department of Education and Department of Health qualification standards for school nurses.

• Background Check: Ability to pass a comprehensive Level 2 background check and drug screen required for educational staff.

Preferred Soft Skills:

• Exceptional interpersonal skills with a gentle, patient bedside manner suited for children and anxious parents.

• Strong organizational capability to manage student medical files, action plans, and state reporting.
