Compensation & Benefits

Job Summary
This role calls for an experienced A&P technician holding an active Inspection Authorization who's comfortable making independent airworthiness decisions on a modern general aviation fleet. The employer's fleet includes Piper Archers (PA-28) and Cessna 172s with Garmin G1000 glass cockpits, supporting a high-volume flight training operation. The right candidate works autonomously, prioritizes confidently, and keeps the fleet flying without cutting corners on safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled phase checks, 100-hour inspections, and annuals across the training fleet; sign off logbooks and return aircraft to service per 14 CFR Parts 43 and 91 and internal procedures
- Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electrical issues, structural airframe damage, and component overhauls on light GA piston aircraft
- Manage workload independently, prioritizing maintenance around active flight schedules to minimize downtime while holding the line on safety
- Interpret Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins, engineering drawings, and OEM manuals; maintain accurate service and parts records in Talon RMS and MS Office
- Keep the hangar organized and compliant with environmental and workplace safety standards
Minimum Requirements
- Active FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license with a current Inspection Authorization (IA) at time of hire
- At least 3 consecutive recent years maintaining general aviation aircraft as a certificated A&P
- Strong working knowledge of 14 CFR Parts 43 and 91
Ideal Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with Piper Archer or Cessna 172 airframes
- Familiarity with Garmin G1000 glass-cockpit avionics
- Comfort with digital maintenance tracking systems (e.g., Talon RMS) and MS Office
