The Operations Finance leader provides financial guidance, analysis, and insights to support Rio Las Vegas Hotel & Casino. This role partners closely with executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to drive operational performance, support decision-making, ensure effective financial controls, and lead internal audit processes.

Supervisory Responsibilities
- Provide financial oversight and operational support for designated gaming and casino operations, ensuring alignment with business objectives and property performance goals.
- Partner with Gaming Operations, Cage & Credit, and Revenue Audit teams to deliver actionable financial insights and support real-time decision-making on the casino floor.
- Oversee and strengthen controls related to casino cash handling, gaming revenues, and transactional processes across table games, slots, and cage operations in accordance with Nevada regulatory requirements.
- Ensure full compliance with Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB) regulations, Minimum Internal Control Standards (MICS), and company policies, maintaining audit-ready processes at all times.
- Monitor daily casino revenue activity, including gaming win, hold percentages, drop, and variances; review and approve related journal entries to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
- Oversee sub-ledger activity, reconciliations, and preparation of gaming-specific financial and statistical reports, including those required for regulatory filings.
- Coordinate and support regulatory reporting and submissions, including Gaming Revenue Reports and other filings required by the Nevada Gaming Commission.
- Partner with Internal Audit and Compliance to support NGCB audits, internal control reviews, and ongoing enhancements to gaming control procedures.
- Maintain and monitor controls over sensitive gaming assets, including cage inventory, chips, tokens, TITO systems, and pre-numbered forms, in accordance with Nevada MICS.
- Evaluate and recommend enhancements to operational and financial processes to improve efficiency, scalability, and control effectiveness within the gaming environment.
- Collaborate with the CFO, FP&A, and finance leadership to develop budgets, forecasts, and long-range plans, incorporating key Nevada gaming revenue drivers and market trends.
- Analyze financial and operational performance, including gaming KPIs (e.g., drop, win, hold, theoretical vs. actual win), and communicate insights and risks to senior leadership.
- Support monthly and year-end close processes, ensuring compliance with SOX requirements and Nevada regulatory reporting standards.
- Prepare and present financial reports, forecasts, and variance analyses to senior management, highlighting operational drivers and compliance considerations.
- Partner cross-functionally with operations, marketing, and hospitality teams to evaluate promotions, player reinvestment strategies, and overall property performance.
- Act as a key liaison with external auditors and regulatory agencies during financial and compliance audits.
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, regulatory compliance, and operational partnership.
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of finance and gaming operations.
- Minimum six (6) years of experience in a casino, top-tier public accounting firm and/or public company environment.
- Minimum three (3) years of progressive leadership experience.
- Strong organizational skills, solution-driven, and analytical thinker.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Able to set and successfully drive strategies for both customer loyalty and employee culture programs.
- Strong Computer proficiency; ability to use Microsoft Office Suite and applicable financial and operational software.
- SOX and internal controls experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- At least 21 years of age.
- CPA accredited.
- Experience with Workday Finance is strongly encouraged
- Proficient in using financial planning systems such as Oracle, Planful or similar software.
- Five (5) years experience of leading a team.
- Experience working in a similar resort setting.
- Must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.
- Must be able to work under time constraints and within established deadlines.
- Must regularly lift and/move up to 10 pounds, and must have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.
- Work is performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment and exposed to various environmental factors such as but not limited to noise, dust and smoke.
