Role Description The Banquet Setup Assistant Manager is a full-time, on-site role based at Rio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, NV. This role oversees the setup and breakdown of banquet, meeting, and event spaces, ensuring room layouts, equipment, and décor meet event specifications and brand standards. Daily responsibilities include coordinating setup staff, assigning tasks, monitoring timelines, and inspecting rooms for accuracy, cleanliness, and safety. The Banquet Setup Assistant Manager partners with Banquets, Catering, Food & Beverage, and Convention Services teams to support seamless event execution and guest satisfaction. The role also assists with inventory management of banquet equipment, supports training of setup team members, and helps maintain efficient workflows during peak business periods.
Qualifications

- Effective Communication skills, including the ability to give clear instructions, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and interact professionally with clients and colleagues.
- Knowledge of Food & Beverage operations related to banquets, including room layout requirements, service flow, and basic safety and hygiene standards.
- Experience with Hiring, training, or supervising culinary union team members in an operations, hospitality, or events environment.
- Previous leadership experience in hotel banquets, events, or convention services is strongly preferred.
- Proven organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple events and priorities in a fast-paced setting.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required by event business.
