Job Summary and Qualifications
Receives, initiates and implements orders for ultrasound sonography exams/procedures using a high degree of quality and timeliness.
What you will do in this role:
- Receives, initiates, implements and completes ultrasound exams on patients of all ages with a high degree of quality and timeliness
- Demonstrates expertise necessary to assess patients exam needs in relation to their ordered exam
- Completes all documentation, written and electronic taking the patient to a completed or taken status
- Provides for patients’ privacy during all exams
- Demonstrates expertise in the operation of the ultrasound Machine. Can detect mechanical problems and effectively troubleshoot or remove from service
- Provides age appropriate care to all patient populations for which staff member is responsible and trained for: Birth-1 - Adult = 18-59 years - Pediatric=1 - 12 years - Geriatric=60 & over - Youth=13-17 years
- Competent in the use of and disinfection of the endo-vaginal ultrasound probe as per policy procedure (RAD 323)
What qualifications you will need:
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- (RDMS) Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
- RVT required
- Vocational School Graduate from an American Medical Association approved school of ultrasound
- Two years' experience preferred
