What are the responsibilities and job description for the SURGICAL TECH / STERILE PROCESSING position at Rio Grande Hospital?
Surgical Tech including Sterile Processing (Del Norte) Full-time (40 hours): This is a dual role between surgical tech and sterile processing tech on surgery days. Primary duties would be setting up the operating room, assisting with patient care, assisting the surgeon in the operating room, sterile processing instruments and endoscopy equipment, and assisting with chart prep, phone calls, and stocking.
Licensure/Certification/Registration: CPR Certification
Equipment Knowledge: Familiar with steam sterilizer, washer, Neptune suction, S&N arthroscopy tower, Cautery
Education: Surgical Tech Licensing, High School Diploma,
Experience: Experience as a surgical tech and in sterile processing
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Must have verbal skills to present information and ideas essential to supervisory duties and to understand general surgery and practice; capable of dealing with people and working closely with patients; workable knowledge of safety procedures; must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language; must have patience and enthusiasm as well as the willingness and ability to handle difficult situations with good judgment; must be able to work as a team member; must be willing to learn.
