Summary:

Conduct residential, mobile home, and agricultural building appraisals to ensure proper generation of property taxes for ad valorem purposes.

Responsibilities:

Discover, list, classify and value property for ad valorem purposes in the county. Enter essential data for the website, apex sketches, load photos, all building data. Measurement and field work associated with doing an appraisal. Customer service. Explains property valuation and procedures, reviews individual accounts and values.

Education and/or Experience:

High school or General Education Diploma; one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must obtain ad valorem appraisal license within two years of hire if not already licensed.

Language Skills:

Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and public.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability, regression, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, and proportions to practical situations.

Other Skills:

Must possess intermediate or better typing skills, and proficient with typical office technology.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

State Ad Valorem Appraisal License is required within two years.

Valid Driver’s License required.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside-weather conditions. However, most of the time the employee works in a standard office environment where there is freedom to sit, stand, or walk at will. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee is subjected to additional stress from the public of a threatening nature while performing the duties of this job.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.46 - $20.22 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
