Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Project Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for oversee all aspects of construction projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will lead construction teams, manage budgets and timelines, ensure compliance with regulations, and drive project success while fostering strong client relationships. This role reports to the Project Director and involves on-site and office-based work. This role requires a strong understanding of heavy civil construction processes, materials, and cost structures. We are looking for experienced individuals who are committed to the construction industry.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties

• Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk assessments. Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure seamless execution.
• Oversee all phases of heavy civil projects, ensuring completion on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
• Prepare and monitor project budgets, track expenses, and implement cost-control measures to deliver projects within financial constraints.
• Supervise on-site crews, conduct regular progress meetings, and resolve conflicts to maintain productivity and morale.
• Enforce adherence to building codes, safety standards (e.g., OSHA), and quality benchmarks through inspections and audits.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing updates, managing expectations, and addressing concerns to ensure satisfaction.
• Lead project teams, including engineers and superintendents, fostering a high-performance culture.
• Maintain accurate records of project progress, changes, and issues; prepare reports for senior management and regulatory bodies.
• Identify potential delays or risks early and develop contingency plans to keep projects on track.
• Monitor and update cost estimates as project conditions change.
• Must be willing to travel to work and stay depending on job site location.

REQUIREMENTS

• Degree in construction management with an emphasis on civil, structural, drafting, or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience in construction management, preferably on heavy civil related construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and cost estimation techniques.
• Broad knowledge and ability to understand project scheduling, cost control, specifications, and engineering drawings.
• Basic working knowledge of earthwork takeoffs
• Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies.
• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong work ethic, interpersonal skills, organization, verbal and written communication skills, and excellent leadership skills.
• Work productively and meet deadlines timely

• Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines.
• The person in this position needs to constantly move about a construction/industrial site, so should be able to stand, walk, sit, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl
• Constantly works in a construction environment and will be exposed to changing outdoor weather conditions
• Work irregular hours, weekends, overtime and holidays as required
• May be required to use ladders/mechanical platforms/manlifts/scaffold to access required equipment/work areas (may exceed 200 feet), so must be able to climb and maintain balance on formwork, steel formwork, stairs, ladders and scaffolds
• Move and work in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven surfaces
• Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy and dusty environment
• May be required/able to move items weighing up to 50 pounds across construction/industrial site
• Must have a Valid Driver’s License
• Observe and comply with all safety and project rules, perform other duties as required
• Ability to pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing, fit for duty medical and background check
• Will use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, and pull: objects, materials, controls and tools.
• Must be able to work in all weather conditions (including heat, rain, cold and wind) while wearing appropriate PPE.
• Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs, masks/respirators, hi-vis safety vests, leather gloves and leather steel-toed work boots.
