What You’ll Need
- Physical Requirements: This position requires the ability to perform work outdoors in a variety of environmental conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and uneven terrain. The role involves prolonged standing, walking, bending, etc. Candidates must be able to regularly lift, carry, and move materials and equipment weighing 40 pounds or more.
- Certification Savvy: Ability to obtain VDOT certifications in soil and aggregate, asphalt, concrete, pavement marking, and more.
- Strong Work Ethic: A dedication to quality, safety, and timely project completion.
- Education: High school degree or equivalent
- VDOT Soil and Aggregate Field Compaction
- VDOT Asphalt Field Level I & II
- VDOT Hydraulic Cement Concrete Field (ACI Concrete Field Tech Grade I)
- VDOT Pavement Marking
- VDOT ESCCC or DEQ Erosion and Sediment Control Inspector
- VDOT Nuclear Gauge Safety Training
- VDOT Guardrail, Surface Treatment
- VDOT Intermediate Work Zone Safety Training
- OSHA 10-Hour Construction
