Description:Rinka Japanese Restaurant is looking for a dedicated and skilled Japanese Food Chef to join our team.
We are a well-established restaurant in the Kakaako area, known for serving authentic Japanese cuisine to our local community. We are looking for someone who is passionate about Japanese culinary arts and eager to grow with us.
As you become familiar with our kitchen and contribute to our team’s success, there will be opportunities for performance-based pay increases.

Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook authentic Japanese dishes with precision and consistency.
Manage food preparation and ensure the highest standards of food safety and cleanliness.
Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service during busy periods.
Maintain a professional and positive attitude in a fast-paced environment.

Work Schedule:
Standard Hours: Approximately 40 hours per week (possibility of overtime during busy seasons).
Shift Layout (Split Shift):
Lunch: 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM (approx.)
Dinner: 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM or 10:00 PM(Fri, Sta)

Compensation & Benefits:
Starting at $22.00 – $25.00 per hour
Performance-based raises: We value hard work and contribution; your pay will grow as you do.
You will be eligible for tip sharing upon successful completion of your training period.

Training & Trial Period
We use a dual-phase onboarding process to ensure your success in our kitchen:
2-Week Trial Period:This initial period is to evaluate the fit between you and our team. Please note that the trial period may be extended based on performance and skill assessment.
Training Period (Concurrent):Training begins on day one alongside your trial. You will learn our specific techniques, recipes, and kitchen standards.

Requirements:
Proven experience in Japanese cuisine. Ability to work a split shift and handle dinner rushes. Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset. Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
