Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accounting Manager with deep technical accounting expertise to support complex accounting matters, financial reporting, compliance, and strategic finance initiatives. This hybrid leadership role will partner closely with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate reporting, strong internal controls, and adherence to accounting standards.
This opportunity is based in Columbus, Ohio with a hybrid work schedule.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical accounting research and implementation for complex transactions
- Evaluate and interpret GAAP guidance and accounting policy impacts
- Oversee preparation and review of financial statements and disclosures
- Manage month-end and quarter-end close processes related to technical accounting areas
- Support internal and external audit activities
- Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures
- Analyze accounting implications for business initiatives, acquisitions, and strategic projects
- Partner with finance and operational leadership on compliance and reporting requirements
- Assist with process improvement initiatives and internal control enhancements
- Mentor accounting staff and provide technical accounting guidance
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
- CPA or MBA required
- 7 years of progressive accounting experience with strong technical accounting exposure
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and accounting research
- Experience supporting audits and preparing technical accounting documentation
- Advanced Excel skills and ERP system experience required
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication abilities
- Public accounting experience is a plus
