LIBA 250X: VISUAL PHYSICS
Course description: Focusing on classical mechanics, light, and sound, this course employs observational and experimental approaches to reasoning in the physical sciences to demonstrate and visualize the workings of non-living systems.
Course goals subject to adjustment by instructor: In this course students will explore motion mechanics, perception, and energy transfer as well as the behaviors of light and sound. Grounded in Newtonian physics, but without the need for calculus, this course will develop students’ understanding of natural laws bounding systems behavior and their ability to apply physical principles to broadly defined motion designs.
Education And Experience
Minimum Qualifications:
Required materials include cover letter, resume or CV, employment and education history, contact information of three references (names, titles, email, and telephone numbers), and, an unofficial transcript copy of the most relevant degree. Candidates may be asked to submit additional materials if needed.
Official transcripts will be required upon hire. Review of materials will begin immediately. Applications to this pool will be reviewed until the vacancy is filled.

Education And Experience
Minimum Qualifications:
- A master’s degree in the teaching discipline or a master’s degree with a concentration in the teaching discipline (a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline).
- Relevant experience teaching physics at the secondary school level or higher.
- A repertoire of engaging teaching techniques that reaches out to a variety of learning styles.
- Familiarity with digital technologies in teaching.
- A terminal degree in physics or an allied field such as engineering; college teaching experience.
- College level teaching experience.
- Strong interest or background in an art and design school environment.
