In this pivotal role, you will collaborate extensively with both internal and external teams to design and implement high-quality, cost-effective solutions for our sortation and distribution systems. Your project portfolio will be diverse, encompassing green-field developments, brown-field expansions, and retrofits across a range of facilities including highly automated fulfillment centers, cross-dock operations, and transportation hubs. You'll have the opportunity to work on both template-based projects and those designed entirely from scratch, while also taking end-to-end ownership of Process Designs that complement each unique facility design. Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $155,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $269,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Key job responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate design and innovation efforts to develop optimal solutions for the sortation and transportation network through equipment specification, material flow, process design, site layout, and intellectual property considerations.
- Collaboration with internal teams and external vendors to generate high-quality, cost-effective solutions in very short periods of time.
- Simultaneously manage multiple projects and tasks while effectively influencing, negotiating, and communicating with internal and external business partners, contractors and vendors.
- Provide technical leadership for large-scale engineering projects
- Effective communication skills, ability to execute the vision, detailed roadmap, and specific technical solutions to make a compelling business case with senior executives.
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
- 10 years experience in developing mechanical and Electrical systems
- Experience interfacing with cross functional teams such mechanical engineers, hardware engineers, SI engineers, diagnostic engineers, and manufacturing engineers as well as with outside vendors and developers
- Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production
- Strong financial and business acumen supporting the product development
- Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent
