Role Description
The Grounds Employee will be an important part of the Ring Homestead team, helping maintain and prepare the outdoor adventure areas that make our camp exciting, safe, and unforgettable for guests.
This role includes maintaining activity areas, assisting with ropes course and paintball field setup, keeping the grounds clean and organized, performing landscaping and light repairs, and helping prepare the property for daily adventures, events, and group programs.
This is not just a maintenance job. This is a hands-on outdoor adventure position where you will become part of the team that keeps the camp running, the fields ready, and the guest experience exciting. Employees will have the opportunity to learn the operations of ropes courses, paintball, and adventure programming. Team members may train toward becoming qualified ropes course staff and develop paintball knowledge and skills as part of the Ring Homestead experience.

This is a full-time, on-site position based in Middletown, NY.
Responsibilities
The Grounds Employee will assist with:
- Maintaining outdoor facilities, activity areas, trails, fields, and common spaces
- Preparing ropes courses, paintball fields, and adventure areas for daily use
- Assisting with setup, cleanup, and organization before and after events
- Landscaping, mowing, trimming, clearing brush, and general property upkeep
- Performing light repairs and helping maintain equipment, structures, and outdoor features
- Supporting the safety, cleanliness, and appearance of the camp
- Helping staff during busy events, group programs, and field operations when needed
- Learning the basics of ropes course operations, paintball field operations, and guest experience support
- Working as part of a team to create a clean, safe, exciting, and professional outdoor environment

- Ability to use tools and equipment safely and responsibly
- Strong work ethic and willingness to take initiative
- Ability to manage time, stay organized, and complete tasks independently or as part of a team
- Physical ability to work outdoors, lift equipment, walk uneven terrain, and work in different weather conditions
- Attention to safety, cleanliness, and presentation
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to different tasks each day
- Interest in outdoor adventure, ropes courses, paintball, team-building, or camp operations is a major plus
