Job Description
Set up and operate equipment across the Fabrication Department and handle materials to support daily production. The role is cross-trained across multiple cells (saw, press brake, drill, tube bending, lasers, and more).
Duties and Responsibilities
- Meet daily production and quality goals.
- Set up and operate machinery in the Fabrication area, including cold saw, hydraulic press, press brake, drill press, tube bender, flat-bed laser, tube laser, and other equipment as assigned.
- Perform changeovers and basic adjustments (tooling, offsets, parameters) to maintain part quality and throughput.
- Tube bending: select tooling (mandrel/pressure die/wiper as applicable), set CLR/radius, check spring-back, and verify critical dimensions.
- Laser operations (as assigned): load programs, verify nests, perform basic checks (nozzle/lens, focus), and confirm first-piece quality; record part counts and runtime.
- Use measurement equipment to verify dimensions against drawings and work instructions.
- Keep work areas clean and organized; perform routine preventative maintenance; report malfunctions and quality issues to Supervisor.
- Identify and segregate nonconforming material and follow documented procedures.
- Follow and retain all work instructions, safety rules, and standard practices.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and follow written work instructions.
- Proficient with measurement tools (calipers, tape, squares, gauges).
- Good understanding of basic quality control principles and safe material handling.
- Comfortable using hand tools; able to work independently or in a team.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Required: Recent hands-on experience with at least one of the following: fiber flat-bed laser, tube laser, or CNC tube bending (cross-training provided for additional cells).
- Forklift certified, or ability to become certified with provided training.
Education and Experience
- 18 years of age or older.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
