Responsibilities
- Prepare and review individual, corporate, partnership, estate, and trust tax returns with precision and compliance.
- Conduct detailed tax planning and research, including estate planning, wills, trusts & estate law, and regulatory reporting.
- Assist clients with tax strategies related to mergers & acquisitions, private equity, and investment portfolios.
- Ensure adherence to SOX compliance standards when applicable and maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial data.
- Utilize various accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, and other financial software tools for accurate data entry and report generation.
- Reconcile accounts, perform balance sheet reconciliation, and analyze financial statements for accuracy.
- Support audit processes through auditing procedures and documentation review.
- Keep current with changes in securities law, GAAP standards, tax laws, and other relevant regulations affecting client filings.
- Collaborate with team members on financial report writing and interpretation to provide comprehensive client service.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of tax experience including tax accounting, tax planning, and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks Online or similar platform is preferred.
- Familiarity with financial concepts like double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, GAAP standards, and general ledger accounting.
- Experience with estate planning, wills & trusts law, non-profit accounting, payroll management, accounts payable/receivable.
- Analytical skills for financial analysis, account reconciliation, budgeting, and financial statement preparation.
- Understanding of securities law, public accounting practices, corporate accounting standards (including SOX), and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Ability to interpret complex financial reports and perform detailed analysis for clients’ financial health assessments.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines. Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
