Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Production Manager to ensure the seamless flow of production processes. In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily plant activities and manage a team of skilled workers to meet quality standards and production targets. Your experience and leadership skills will drive efficiency, safety, and continuous improvement across our manufacturing facility.
Key Responsibilities
Production Planning & Scheduling
· Develop and execute the daily and weekly production schedule based on sales orders, forecasted demand, and staffing availability.
· Adjust schedules dynamically to accommodate changing priorities, downtime, or supply interruptions.
· Coordinate with Production, Packaging, Warehouse, and QA teams to maintain seamless product flow.
Team Leadership & Staffing
· Supervise 20–25 production employees across multiple lines and shifts.
· Assign daily tasks, monitor performance, and ensure adherence to SOPs.
· Conduct daily shift meetings to communicate goals, safety updates, and key production metrics.
· Support employee training and cross-training to maintain flexibility and efficiency.
Quality, Safety & Allergen Control
· Enforce food safety and sanitation standards in all production areas.
· Ensure compliance with food safety regulations (SQF, FDA, FSMA, GMPs).
· Work closely with FSQA to investigate and resolve non-conformances or process deviations.
KPI & Performance Tracking
· Collect and report daily and weekly production KPIs
· Analyze performance data and identify improvement opportunities.
· Submit KPI summaries and variance explanations to the Operations Manager.
Inventory & Traceability
· Oversee accurate lot code assignment and tracking from production batching through packaging.
· Verify completion and accuracy of batch records and production logs.
· Ensure proper material usage reporting to maintain inventory accuracy.
Continuous Improvement
· Identify process inefficiencies and lead projects to improve throughput, labor utilization, and quality.
Qualifications
· 5 - 10 years of experience in food manufacturing or CPG production management.
· Strong understanding of allergen controls, GMPs, and food safety systems.
· Proficiency with production scheduling, Excel-based KPI tracking, and ERP systems.
· Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Physical & Work Environment
Must be able to stand, walk, and supervise on the production floor for extended periods.
Work involves exposure to varying temperatures, noise, and standard food-processing equipment.
