We’re representing a well-established, signatory union contractor with two distinct divisions— Heavy Civil and Mechanical Infrastructure —that self-perform core scopes of work across the greater Southern California region. They are seeking a Project Manager with experience in civil site development, wet utilities, pump/lift stations, and flatwork/concrete execution.
This role offers the chance to lead high-impact public and private infrastructure projects ranging from athletic fields and parks to water infrastructure and mechanical systems . You’ll coordinate with in-house teams and trusted trade partners, while managing all phases of project delivery—estimating, scheduling, subcontractor management, and client relations.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead full-cycle project management from preconstruction through closeout
Oversee subcontractor coordination, procurement, and construction administration
Manage budgets, cost tracking, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and scheduling
Serve as the primary point of contact with owners, agencies, inspectors, and design teams
Coordinate across in-house teams for flatwork, masonry, foundation, and structural concrete scopes
Collaborate with superintendents and field staff to ensure safe, high-quality delivery
Participate in bid strategy, estimating, and proposal development as needed
Ensure compliance with union labor standards and prevailing wage requirements
Project Types Include:
Civil Site Development – Parks, athletic fields, public infrastructure
Wet Utilities – Water, sewer, storm drain installations
Flatwork & Concrete – Sidewalks, pads, retaining walls, structure walls
Mechanical Infrastructure – Pump stations, lift stations, tanks, mechanical yards
Street Improvements – Curbs, gutters, R&R street work, landscaping
Qualifications:
5 years of experience managing heavy civil or mechanical projects ($1M–$20M range ideal)
Strong background in either site development , wet utilities , or mechanical scopes
Experience working for a union contractor or managing public works/compliance is a plus
Comfortable overseeing multiple scopes (concrete, utilities, mechanical systems, etc.)
Prior hands-on experience in roles such as Estimator or Superintendent a plus
Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Project preferred
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and team coordination skills
