NDT Inspector

The NDT Inspector is responsible for performing non-destructive testing (NDT) inspections on forged, machined, and manufactured components to ensure compliance with customer specifications, engineering drawings, industry standards, and quality requirements. This position plays a critical role in verifying product integrity while supporting the production of high-quality components for demanding industries such as aerospace, defense, energy, and industrial manufacturing.

The ideal candidate has experience performing multiple NDT methods, interpreting specifications, maintaining accurate inspection records, and working in a manufacturing environment where precision and quality are top priorities.

• Perform non-destructive testing inspections using approved methods, including Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT), Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Visual Testing (VT), and other applicable inspection methods based on certification level.
• Conduct inspections at various stages of the manufacturing process to verify compliance with customer specifications and engineering requirements.
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and inspection procedures.
• Identify, document, and report discontinuities, defects, and non-conforming conditions.
• Accurately complete inspection reports, certifications, and quality documentation.
• Ensure all inspection activities comply with ASNT, ASTM, AMS, customer, and internal quality standards.
• Verify calibration and proper operation of NDT equipment before use.
• Maintain inspection equipment, reference standards, and testing materials.
• Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Production teams to resolve quality concerns.
• Support root cause investigations and corrective actions related to product quality.
• Assist with internal audits, customer audits, and regulatory inspections as needed.
• Follow all safety procedures, quality policies, and manufacturing standards while maintaining a clean and organized work area.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, and process improvement.

• High school diploma or GED required.
• ASNT Level II certification (or equivalent employer certification) in one or more NDT methods such as MT, PT, UT, or VT.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience performing NDT inspections in a manufacturing, forging, machining, aerospace, or metal fabrication environment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and inspection procedures.
• Strong understanding of GD&T, dimensional inspection, and manufacturing processes.
• Experience documenting inspection results and maintaining quality records.
• Knowledge of applicable aerospace and manufacturing quality standards.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate inspection results.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and electronic quality management systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Multiple ASNT Level II certifications (MT, PT, UT, VT, or RT).
• Experience inspecting forged steel, titanium, aluminum, nickel alloys, or other specialty metals.
• Aerospace manufacturing experience preferred.
• Familiarity with NADCAP, AS9100, ISO 9001, and customer-specific quality requirements.
• Experience using precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, gauges, and indicators.
• Ability to work any shift, overtime, weekends, or holidays as production demands require.
• Forklift, overhead crane, or rigging experience is a plus.
