Position Overview
We are seeking a Mechanical Plumbing Engineer to join our team. This role focuses on the design, analysis, and coordination of plumbing systems—including domestic water, sanitary, stormwater, fire protection, and specialty piping—for a range of projects across commercial, industrial, healthcare, and institutional sectors. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, collaborative, and able to deliver innovative, code-compliant designs while working seamlessly within a multidisciplinary project team.
Key Responsibilities

Design and develop plumbing systems including domestic water, sanitary, storm, natural gas, fire protection, and specialty piping.

Perform calculations for hydraulic systems, pipe sizing, pressure loss, flow rates, and equipment selection.

Ensure compliance with plumbing codes, national standards, and green building requirements (e.g., IPC, NSPC, IFGC, ASPE, NFPA, LEED, WELL).

Prepare detailed construction documents including drawings, specifications, and schedules.

Participate in project meetings and communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders.

Coordinate design efforts with HVAC, electrical, structural, and architectural teams.

Conduct site visits, field inspections, and assessments to ensure compliance with design intent and applicable codes.

Review shop drawings, submittals, and RFIs during the construction administration phase.

Assist with technical reports, proposals, and cost estimates.

Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and designers.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

5 years of experience in plumbing system design for commercial, industrial, healthcare, or institutional projects.

Strong knowledge of relevant codes and standards (IPC, NSPC, IFGC, ASPE, NFPA).

Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Excellent problem-solving, time management, and communication skills.

EIT or PE license preferred.
