The pediatric Registered Nurse position within our Pediatric ICU at Riley offers stair-step training for advanced pulmonology and shock, advanced neurology and transplant, continuous renal replacement therapy, targeted temperature management, etc. We see solid organ transplants, trauma, ventilators, neurosurgical and other surgical patients, CRRT, ECMO, ICP, to name a few. A Registered Nurse within the Pediatric ICU are dedicated to providing comprehensive and compassionate care to their patients. - Shift: Nights
- This position is referral eligible.
- Relocation incentive available.
- Learn to provide care and assess critically ill patients.
- Assist with bedside procedures such as arterial line placement, central line placement, intubation and extubation, bronchoscopy, chest tube placement, etc.
- Supporting patients and their families while in the PICU and during end-of-life care.
- Significant reduction in harm (CLABSI, HAPI, CAUTI) from 2022 to 2023.
- Charge Nurse, Advisor and Mentor are all roles that have been developed to support our clinical nurses at the bedside especially those who are new and in their first two years of the profession.
- Improved Employee Engagement scores from 2022 to 2023.
- Little to no use of RN Travelers in the Riley PICU as compared to other PICUs across the country.
- Achieved 5th Magnet Designation in January 2024.
- 90% of our Nurses are BSN prepared with several ASN nurses in pursuit of their BSN.
- 22.2% of our Nurses are certified, with several others studying and pursuing certification.
- 1 Daisy Award Recipient and 38 Daisy Award Nominations throughout 2023.
- 36 Red Shoe Award Recipients throughout 2023.
- 1 IU Health Values Leadership Award Nomination in 2023.

- Requires Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
- Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
- Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
- Other Advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
