Position Title: Mill and Pave Foreman

Essential Functions:

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Responsible for completing asphalt projects on time and safely including proper operation of equipment (Milling maching, paving machine, skip loaders, rollers, skidsteers, etc) and ensuring a quality finish per the project specifications and plans.
  • Observe, record and report daily activities in field notes logs.
  • Communication point between the client contact and construction operations team.
  • Coordinate with material suppliers on scheduling, quality and completion of work.
  • Review works orders, proposals and contracts to ensure project scope is defined.
  • Review, create and coordinate the completion of punch list items.
  • Consult with engineers, clients, inspectors and Superintendent to resolve unforeseen issues.
  • Ensures work complies with all technical, and quality guidelines
  • Quality Control from start to finish
  • Ability to comprehend, analyze and execute blueprints.
  • Request and review change orders when required with the clients and superintendent
  • Conduct daily and weekly Safety meetings with paving crew, and weekly/quarterly meetings with operations leadership.
  • Inspect completed work, ensure proper measurements
  • Lead the crew in company procedures

Success Factors:

  • Ability to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods, often under adverse climatic conditions.
  • Ability to lift up to 80 lbs multiple times during a work shift
  • Ability to climb, dig, work in tight spaces, on uneven surfaces, walking, stooping, and kneeling
  • Ability to understand and follow specific oral and written instructions
  • Ability to work well independently and as a part of a team with co-workers
  • Ability to pass motor vehicle, criminal background check, and comply with drug-free workplace policy
  • English usage sufficient to keep records, place orders, and prepare simple narrative reports
  • Willingness and ability to learn additional skills

Experience and Education:

  • Three (3 ) plus years’ experience in a construction role is required
  • Prior crew coordination experience is preferred
  • Licensed Plumber, Pipe Fitter and or three (3) years apprenticeship is preferred
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year to year basis

Additional Requirements/Licenses/Certifications:

  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid State of Residence Driver’s License is required within two weeks of employment.
  • Candidates must pass criminal and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background checks and pass a pre-employment drug screen.
