CISCO Network Engineer

Key Responsibilities

1. Configuration and Management

• Configure and maintain Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls (e.g., Cisco IOS, NX-OS, ASA, Firepower, Meraki).
• Implement and manage Layer 2 switching technologies (e.g., VLANs, Spanning Tree Protocol - STP, VTP).
• Configure and troubleshoot Layer 3 routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, static routing).
• Manage and implement network security policies using Access Control Lists (ACLs), VPN tunnels, and firewall rules.
• Configure and maintain WAN/LAN, Wireless, VoIP, and VPN connectivity.

2. Design and Implementation

• Participate in the design and architecture of new network solutions to meet business requirements.
• Plan and execute network upgrades, migrations, and expansions with minimal disruption.
• Implement redundancy mechanisms (e.g., HSRP, VRRP) to ensure high availability of the network.

3. Troubleshooting and Monitoring

• Perform network monitoring and performance tuning using tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Wireshark) to ensure optimal health.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex network outages, security breaches, and connectivity issues efficiently.
• Identify and resolve network bottlenecks, packet loss, and performance degradation.

4. Documentation and Standards

• Create and maintain detailed network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and procedures.
• Ensure the network infrastructure adheres to security best practices and compliance requirements.
