Position Summary:
The Diesel Shop Lot Porter plays a vital support role within the service department by maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and efficiency of the shop and lot area. This position assists technicians and service advisors by moving trucks, performing light cleaning and maintenance tasks, and ensuring all vehicles are staged safely and ready for service or delivery. The role helps maintain a professional image and smooth workflow throughout the day.
Essential Position Functions/Responsibilities:
- Move heavy-duty trucks and trailers in and out of service bays safely and efficiently.
- Park and stage vehicles in designated areas for service, pickup, or delivery.
- Maintain organization of the lot, ensuring clear lanes for customer and technician access.
- Perform light cleaning, sweeping, and general shop upkeep daily.
- Assist technicians with retrieving or returning trucks, parts, and tools as directed.
- Conduct basic inspections (fluid levels, tire pressure, lights) when requested.
- Wash and detail trucks after service completion as needed.
- Assist in snow removal, lot maintenance, and exterior facility upkeep.
- Deliver customer vehicles or parts between local facilities as needed.
- Support the service team with additional duties assigned by management.
Education & Essential Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (CDL required).
- Ability to operate manual and automatic transmission heavy-duty trucks safely.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Ability to work outdoors year-round in varying weather condition.

Preferred Qualifications:
