The Commercial Logistics Business Improvement team seeks a TMS Integration Analyst with proven experience implementing and integrating Transportation Management Systems with ERP platforms (particularly SAP). This is an advanced individual contributor role focused on Rail Logistics operations.
Ideal candidates may have Project Manager, Business Analyst, or Data Analyst titles and have successfully stood up new TMS platforms (such as Intellitrans, TransMetric, or similar) and integrated them with enterprise systems.
This contractor role requires strong analytical skills, critical thinking, and the ability to operate independently on complex system integration and process optimization initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
System Integration & Implementation • Lead SAP-TMS integration support, troubleshooting issues and driving resolution of complex system challenges • Support TMS implementation projects, system upgrades, and data integration initiatives across enterprise platforms • Ensure seamless data flow between TMS and ERP systems
Analytics & Problem Solving • Conduct end-to-end root cause analysis with critical thinking (understanding how data changes create downstream impacts) • Use Power BI dashboards and analytics tools to extract insights, monitor KPIs, and enable data-driven decisions • Analyze process and data flow issues; recommend solutions that improve accuracy and efficiency
Rail Logistics Expertise • Serve as TMS subject matter resource for rail logistics operations • Support freight management system enhancements and initiatives to improve rail logistics transparency • Maintain knowledge of rail and truck logistics operations, carrier management, and shipment tracking
Documentation & Collaboration • Maintain data integrity and support critical TMS transactions • Document processes using SharePoint and prepare stakeholder reports on outcomes and business impact • Map business processes and demonstrate end-to-end data flows
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience) • 4 years with Transportation Management Systems, including hands-on TMS implementation or integration projects • Proven experience integrating TMS platforms with SAP/ERP systems • Strong end-to-end root cause analysis and critical thinking skills • Advanced Excel proficiency for data analysis and reporting • Experience with Power BI (reading and interpreting dashboards) • Familiarity with SharePoint for document management • Working knowledge of rail and/or truck logistics operations • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills • Ability to work independently, build relationships quickly, and deliver results as a contractor
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with railroad-specific systems and websites (Class I railroad platforms, rail carrier portals) • Prior role as Project Manager, Business Analyst, or Implementation Specialist on TMS/logistics technology projects • Experience with Intellitrans, TransMetric, or comparable TMS platforms • SAP S/4HANA and SAP R/3 experience (vendor billing, nominations, shipment cost documents, ticket actualization) • Experience supporting logistics improvement initiatives across truck and rail operations
