Job Description

This role provides regulatory, permitting, and compliance support for upstream oil and gas operations. The position focuses on ensuring that environmental and regulatory requirements are properly integrated into operational planning and execution. The role supports preparation, submission, tracking, and maintenance of regulatory documentation across multiple jurisdictions while ensuring compliance with applicable internal and external standards. The position also involves maintaining accurate regulatory records, supporting reporting workflows, and assisting with compliance monitoring activities.

Responsibilities

  • Support regulatory planning, permitting, and compliance activities for upstream operations
  • Assist in integrating environmental and regulatory requirements into operational and project planning processes
  • Prepare, submit, and track routine regulatory filings, notifications, and compliance reports
  • Maintain regulatory tracking systems, databases, and document management repositories
  • Ensure regulatory documentation is complete, accurate, and audit-ready at all times
  • Coordinate data collection and assist in analysis of regulatory and compliance metrics
  • Support compliance with federal, state, tribal, and local regulatory requirements
  • Assist regulatory and compliance teams in managing permitting workflows and deliverables
  • Monitor status of permits, approvals, and regulatory submissions to ensure timely completion
  • Support internal environmental and regulatory compliance assurance processes
  • Participate in routine coordination activities with internal stakeholders to align compliance requirements with operations
  • Assist in identifying gaps or issues in regulatory documentation and tracking systems

Skills And Qualifications

  • Approximately 3 years of experience in regulatory, permitting, compliance, or environmental support roles within oil and gas or related industries
  • Familiarity with upstream oil and gas operations and associated regulatory frameworks
  • Experience preparing, tracking, and managing regulatory filings and compliance documentation
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple tracking systems and deadlines
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate, audit-ready records
  • Basic understanding of environmental and regulatory compliance requirements
  • Ability to interpret and follow established procedures and workflows
  • Strong data management and documentation skills
  • Ability to work effectively within structured regulatory processes
  • Strong communication skills for coordination with internal teams and stakeholders
  • Ability to make decisions within defined parameters and escalate when needed
  • Capable of acting as a supporting resource to less experienced team members
  • Proficiency with databases, tracking tools, and document management systems

Job Details

Location: Houston, TX

Pay: $57.85/hr

Schedule: Monday-Friday
