The Production Technician is responsible for safely operating, monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining oil and gas wells, production facilities, and associated surface equipment to maximize production performance and minimize downtime. This role supports daily field operations, production optimization efforts, equipment inspections, and operational troubleshooting while maintaining compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities
Production Operations
- Operate and monitor wells, production facilities, and associated equipment including separators, compressors, tanks, treaters, pumps, scrubbers, and artificial lift systems.
- Perform daily well checks, inspections, fluid sampling, meter readings, and production surveillance activities.
- Monitor production performance using SCADA and production monitoring tools to identify production variances and underperforming wells.
- Troubleshoot production issues and execute corrective action plans to restore wells to target production rates.
- Coordinate with operations, optimization, engineering, maintenance, and automation teams to resolve operational issues.
- Support startup, shutdown, and field optimization activities.
- Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on production equipment and facility systems.
- Troubleshoot artificial lift systems including plunger lift, gas lift, free-flowing wells, and wellhead compression systems.
- Inspect and maintain production equipment including control valves, chemical systems, compressors, coolers, separators, and tank systems.
- Create work management requests for maintenance or automation support when additional field assistance is required.
- Ensure manipulated valves and equipment align with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and safety standards.
- Accurately record production data, downtime codes, operational activities, and field observations.
- Maintain proper well coding and deferment tracking within operational systems.
- Utilize production monitoring and operational tools including SCADA, production viewers, and reporting systems.
- Generate and communicate operational updates, field actions, and handoff requirements to operations teams and supervisors.
- Maintain accurate documentation for production validations, inspections, and operational reporting.
- Follow all company safety, environmental, and operational procedures.
- Conduct Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) and participate in daily safety meetings.
- Ensure site housekeeping standards are maintained, including signage, containment, and cleanup activities.
- Support safe work permitting processes and field safety initiatives.
- Identify and escalate operational or safety concerns as needed.

- 2 years of oil & gas production operations experience preferred.
- Experience with artificial lift systems including plunger lift and gas lift preferred.
- Knowledge of oil and gas production equipment and facility operations.
- Familiarity with SCADA systems, production monitoring tools, and operational software.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently in field environments.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Office applications.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Ability to work rotating schedules, callouts, and field-based assignments as needed.
- Ability to lift equipment, work outdoors in varying conditions, and perform physically demanding tasks.
