Responsibilities
Well Operations Management
- Oversee and coordinate drillout operations and related well activities.
- Monitor operational execution to ensure alignment with approved programs and objectives.
- Track operational performance, costs, and key performance indicators.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve operational efficiency and well performance.
- Develop, review, and support operational programs, procedures, and execution plans.
- Coordinate schedules, logistics, personnel, and equipment requirements.
- Ensure operational readiness and support intervention or remediation activities as needed.
- Manage operational risks and support contingency planning.
- Monitor well performance and production data.
- Identify optimization opportunities and recommend corrective actions.
- Support artificial lift and production enhancement initiatives.
- Analyze downtime events and develop mitigation strategies.
- Assist with planning and execution of well interventions, recompletions, and remedial operations.
- Support well integrity management activities.
- Coordinate with engineering, operations, and field personnel to ensure successful project execution.
- Maintain accurate well records, operational reports, and documentation.
- Track AFE performance, operational costs, and efficiency metrics.
- Provide regular updates regarding operational status, risks, and performance trends.
- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture.
- Participate in risk assessments, safety reviews, and incident investigations.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Serve as a liaison between field operations, engineering, contractors, and management.
- Communicate operational priorities, risks, and performance updates.
- Support cross-functional collaboration to achieve operational goals.
Required Education
- Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline preferred.
- Equivalent industry experience may be considered.
- 5 years of oil and gas industry experience.
- Direct experience with drillout operations required.
- Experience supporting drilling, completions, production, workover, or plug and abandonment (P&A) operations.
- Experience in well management, operations engineering, or field supervision roles.
- Strong understanding of well lifecycle management and field operations.
- Knowledge of drilling, completions, drillout, intervention, and production processes.
- Experience with production optimization and artificial lift systems.
- Familiarity with well integrity management and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Experience using well databases, reporting platforms, and operational tracking systems.
- Ability to analyze operational data and develop actionable recommendations.
- Strong troubleshooting, decision-making, and risk management capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to effectively collaborate with field personnel, engineering teams, contractors, and management.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Experience working in the Midland/Odessa market.
- Previous experience supporting unconventional oil and gas operations.
- Familiarity with production reporting, well performance analysis, and operational dashboards.
