Rigid Component Systems is looking for a detail oriented designer to develop truss and floor designs from architectural and structural drawings. The ideal candidate for this position enjoys hyper-focused work, sweats the small stuff, is a clear communicator and strong team player, and is excited about working for a rapidly growing company.
Please note: The ideal candidate for this position is located in the Denver metro or Northern Colorado area. Strong candidates from outside of Colorado will be considered as well. Due to time zone constraints and a need for intermittent office and job site visits, candidates located outside of the US will not be considered.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for using MiTek design software to develop roof and floor truss designs for Rigid Component Systems
- Responsible for identifying specialty products and hardware and specific call-outs on prints, competently discussing design elements with architects/ engineers/ contractors and clearly explaining your design process and vision.
- Responsible for conducting site visits as needed to meet with customers to ensure proper ordering or for problem resolution.
- Responsible for cooperating with sales and management personnel to coordinate deliveries of floor and roof trusses.
- Responsible for influencing construction budget by analyzing plans; updating specifications; identifying and projecting costs.
- Consulted on inventory management as well as purchasing and procurement of materials.
- Responsible for reading, interpreting and coordinating architectural and structural drawings.
- Responsible for generating truss placement layouts and truss designs for final construction.
- Responsible for maintaining file structure databases and documentation information.
- Responsible for sharing feedback in a timely and professional manner and operating with a spirit of continuous improvement.
Job Requirements:
- Required: Significant experience with MiTek Design Software
- Required: Significant experience designing floor and roof trusses for both multifamily and single family projects.
- Experience with and comfort with mentoring and training junior designers
- Ability to work independently to meet required schedules and quality standards.
- General knowledge of the wood construction industry, specifically floor and truss design process.
- Ability to accurately tabulate loads and load transfer through a building.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, good math skills, good interpersonal skills.
Salary : $60,000 - $80,000
