RIGHTSTONE IS HIRING! We are seeking a detail-oriented Release of Information Specialist to join our Release of Information team in Jacksonville, FL with $17/hr pay for a 7 months contract (potential temp to perm opportunity). In this role, you will be responsible for accurately processing requests for protected health information (PHI) while ensuring strict compliance with HIPAA, state, and federal regulations. You’ll play a key role in safeguarding patient privacy while delivering timely, professional service in accordance with established Service Level Agreements (SLAs). This position is data-entry focused, and prior ROI or healthcare records experience is strongly preferred. APPLY NOW!
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
What You’ll Do:
- Process and fulfill requests for medical records by locating, retrieving, and reproducing protected health information in a timely manner
- Verify requester authorization and ensure all releases meet HIPAA, legal, and customer requirements
- Reproduce records using approved methods (scanning, faxing, photocopying) within SLA timeframes
- Accurately enter and track requests in the ROI tracking system
- Review completed work for accuracy, quality, and regulatory compliance before release
- Generate cover letters, invoices, and pre-payment notices; process payments as required
- Communicate professionally with internal and external customers regarding request status
- Utilize multiple computer systems while maintaining procedural consistency
- Participate in meetings and training to stay current with regulatory and industry updates
- Perform additional duties as assigned
What we’re looking for:
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s Degree preferred
- RHIT certification desired but not required
- 1–3 years of experience in healthcare, medical records, ROI, records management, or customer service
- Strong knowledge of patient confidentiality; HIPAA knowledge preferred
- High proficiency with computers and data entry systems
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
