Job Description:
The OSP Inspector applies comprehensive knowledge of Outside Plant (OSP) construction, inspection, and safety standards to ensure the quality and integrity of fiber network infrastructure. This position serves as the field representative for quality assurance, permitting compliance, and project documentation. The OSP Inspector also assists with field supervision, mentoring of technicians, and coordination with engineering, permitting, and construction teams to meet project scope, schedule, and budget objectives.

Experience
- 3–5 years of experience in telecommunications OSP construction, maintenance, or inspection (Fiber, CATV, or Telephone).
- Knowledge of FOA, NEC, NESC, BISCI, and local construction codes and safety practices.
- Experience reading and interpreting fiber design plans, system maps, and splice documentation.
- Proficient in the use of field tools such as GPS, laser range finder, measuring stick, and handheld mobile inspection applications.
- Familiarity with aerial and underground make-ready surveys and route validation.
Skills
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple field assignments.
- Effective communicator with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
- Capable of producing clear, accurate, and timely field reports and visual documentation.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, GIS, or digital as-built platforms is a plus.
Education & Certifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; technical or associate degree preferred.
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred.
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. and work outdoors under variable conditions.
- Willingness to travel up to 30% and work weekends or second shifts as required.
