What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Assurance Manager — ISO 9001 position at Right Weigh, Inc.?
Right Weigh, Inc. | Hillsboro, Oregon
Full-time | On-site
Salary: Depending on experience and qualifications
Reports to: General Manager
Right Weigh designs and manufactures onboard load scales for the commercial trucking industry, with products serving drivers, fleets, and equipment manufacturers. Product reliability and customer service are central to our business.
We are seeking a hands-on Quality Assurance Manager to lead our quality management system, maintain ISO certification readiness, and strengthen quality throughout the organization.
Direct experience managing an ISO 9001 quality management system and supporting external certification audits is required.
This position goes beyond product inspection. We need someone who understands ISO requirements, can translate them into practical processes, and follows quality issues through to an effective, documented resolution.
- Own the ISO 9001 quality management system. Maintain and improve company quality processes, procedures, objectives, and records. Evaluate updates to the standard and coordinate certification transition requirements with our certification body and leadership.
- Lead audit readiness and follow-through. Develop and manage the internal audit program, coordinate external certification and surveillance audits, serve as the primary audit contact, and ensure findings receive timely corrective action.
- Manage document control and training records. Maintain current procedures, work instructions, controlled forms, and revision histories. Work with department leaders to ensure employees understand applicable requirements and that training and competency records are maintained.
- Drive corrective action and continuous improvement. Investigate nonconformities, customer complaints, returns, and recurring defects. Lead root cause analysis, coordinate corrective actions across departments, and verify that changes prevent recurrence.
- Support product and supplier quality. Partner with Engineering, Purchasing, Receiving, Assembly, and other operational teams on inspection requirements, supplier performance, nonconforming material controls, and product acceptance criteria. Maintain oversight of measuring equipment calibration and related records.
- Report performance and facilitate management review. Track meaningful quality indicators, identify trends and risks, prepare management review information, and follow improvement actions through completion. Build accountability while keeping quality processes practical and usable.
- Hands-on ISO 9001 experience, including maintaining or leading a quality management system and interpreting requirements in a manufacturing environment. A general awareness of ISO alone is not sufficient.
- Demonstrated experience preparing for and directly supporting certification, surveillance, or recertification audits, including responding to findings and verifying corrective action effectiveness.
- Strong knowledge of internal auditing, document control, root cause analysis, nonconforming product controls, supplier quality, and calibration management.
- The ability to write clear procedures, analyze quality data, train employees, and work constructively across departments. Strong organization, follow-through, and sound judgment are essential.
Preferred background: Experience with electromechanical products, instrumentation, electronics, or industrial manufacturing; ISO 9001 Internal Auditor or Lead Auditor training; relevant quality certifications; and experience coordinating quality across suppliers or international manufacturing operations. Relevant education or equivalent practical experience is welcome.
Well-prepared audits, effective corrective actions, fewer recurring quality problems, current documentation and calibration records, and employees who understand how their work contributes to product quality and customer satisfaction.
We are looking for someone who improves how the company operates—not simply someone who prepares paperwork before an audit.
Apply through LinkedIn with your résumé and a brief summary of your ISO 9001 experience. Please describe your role in managing a quality system, supporting external audits, and resolving a significant quality or process issue.
Right Weigh welcomes qualified applicants from all backgrounds and is committed to equal employment opportunity.
