Part-Time Driving Instructor
Overview
Right Turn Driving Academy is looking for a dependable, patient, and professional Part-Time Driving Instructor to join our growing team.
This position is designed for someone seeking supplemental income and is not intended to replace full-time employment. We are looking for instructors who can consistently commit to at least 10 hours per week and are reliable enough to support our growing student demand.
Our instructors have flexibility in setting their schedules; however, availability must generally fall between 9:00 AM and 8:00 PM, including some evenings and weekends based on student demand.

Responsibilities
- Provide behind-the-wheel instruction to teen and adult students using the Texas Driver Education curriculum.
- Create a calm, encouraging, and professional learning environment.
- Teach defensive driving techniques, parking, lane changes, highway driving, city driving, and other real-world driving skills.
- Evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback after each lesson.
- Complete required lesson documentation accurately and on time.
- Communicate professionally with students, parents, and academy staff.
- Arrive on time and maintain a dependable schedule.
- Follow all Right Turn Driving Academy policies and procedures.
- Ensure the safety of students and vehicle at all times.
- Adhere to all Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) rules and regulations.
Requirements
- Must be able to commit to a minimum of 10 hours per week.
- Must be looking for part-time supplemental income rather than full-time employment.
- Must be dependable, punctual, and committed to scheduled lessons.
- Must possess excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Must enjoy working with teenagers and adult learners.
- Must have a valid Texas driver’s license.
- Must maintain a clean driving record.
- Must pass a criminal background check.
- Must be willing to complete a Texas Department of Public Safety fingerprint/background check if hired.
- Must meet all TDLR requirements to become or remain a licensed driving instructor.
- Must be comfortable using scheduling software and mobile technology.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous teaching, coaching, mentoring, or customer service experience.
- Prior driver education or driving instructor experience is a plus, but training may be available for the right candidate.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
