Responsibilities
- Provide peer support through active listening, mentoring, and motivational interviewing techniques to promote recovery and resilience.
- Assist clients in developing personalized wellness plans that incorporate behavioral health strategies and addiction counseling approaches.
- Conduct crisis intervention and crisis management to de-escalate situations and ensure client safety.
- Collaborate with clinical teams using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems to document progress, updates, and service plans accurately.
- Offer guidance on navigating social services, community resources, and support networks to enhance client independence.
- Facilitate group activities or peer support groups that foster community connection and shared learning experiences.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all organizational policies related to social work practices, ethical standards, and client rights.
Experience
- Lived experience with mental health challenges or substance use recovery, with demonstrated success in maintaining personal wellness.
- Prior experience in behavioral health settings or social work environments is highly valued.
- Strong skills in crisis intervention, crisis management, and behavioral health support techniques.
- Knowledge of addiction counseling principles and motivational interviewing methods.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems for documentation purposes.
- Excellent mentoring abilities with a compassionate approach to supporting others through their recovery journey.
