Behavioral Interventionist

Right Direction Crisis Intervention
Windsor, CT Full Time
POSTED ON 4/7/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 6/7/2026

Job Description:

Physically fit BEHAVIORAL HEALTHCARE PERSONNEL WANTED

We are with Clients 24/7. Vaping is very detrimental and disruptive to this at-risk population that needs 100% Sobriety.

Want to make a difference in others’ lives? Want to help at-risk youth? As an Adolescent/Young Adult Transitional Interventionist, you and a team member will assist in the intervention process and transport at-risk adolescents and young adults from one location to another (typically from home to a treatment program but also from program to program). Right Direction is hired by the parents, who give us signed legal authority to safely transport their youth or young adults to pre-arranged therapeutic programs. Most of these teens have emotional and or behavioral as well as substance or processing addiction issues and can sometimes be very defiant. Safety is the number one concern. You must be aware you might have to manually restrain the adolescent who is trying to hurt themselves during the intervention. We use core body holds (we do not use mechanical restraints) and verbal de-escalation (most cases do not get physical or require manual holds) techniques to gain control of the situation. Employees will always work in pairs. We often work on an emergency basis, so employees are given short to very little notice of a case ahead of time; therefore, a flexible schedule is necessary. This is an on-call position, but it could become full-time once you are a lead staff member.

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavioral Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in behavioral health and experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities. This role involves providing support and intervention strategies to enhance the quality of life for clients, particularly children and those experiencing PTSD. The Behavioral Specialist will work closely with clients, families, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
