Responsibilities
- Operate commercial vehicles, including tractor-trailers and flatbeds, to transport freight to designated locations.
- Load and unload cargo safely, ensuring proper handling of goods to prevent damage.
- Plan and follow efficient routes for timely deliveries while adhering to traffic regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of hours driven and cargo details.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered during transit.
- Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of the vehicle assigned.
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for the type of vehicle being driven (e.g., tanker, flatbed).
- Experience in route driving with a proven track record of safe driving practices.
- Familiarity with operating manual transmission vehicles is preferred.
- Ability to load and unload freight efficiently, with knowledge of proper handling techniques.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to changing situations on the road.
